Low Carbon School Project 18 Jun 2009
Low Carbon School Project has been recently launched to help build awareness to the school youths residing in the island of Koh Samui. The program is adopted from the practices of some hotels / resorts in the island. There were 20 participating properties, partnered as 2 and 10 participating schools. The main purpose of this program is to: 1. Provide information / awareness to schools and students 2. Managing the environmental friendly activities such as: recycling, energy saving, water saving and waste water treatment, chemical management, clean up drives and tree planting. Impiana Samui Resort & Spa together with its neighbor hotel, Imperial Samui Hotel has joined force to help educate the Wat Sawangarom School. Activities organized by both hotel is being implemented by the school. It was last 15th June 2009 when the Project was launched at the Koh Samui school in Nathon. Joined and supported by the municipality and Thai Hotels Association, the launch was considered successful. Students from the participating schools exhibited products serving the purposes that this program set. Photo shows the Impiana Samui Resort & Spa team receiving the plaque of recognition.
